What 47300 covers

SIC 47300 is the retail sale of automotive fuel in specialised stores. Within the classification, “specialised store” simply means an outlet whose principal business is that product: a filling station rather than a general shop that happens to sell fuel.

The heading covers the retail sale of petrol, diesel, LPG for vehicles, and the lubricants and coolants sold alongside them. It does not cover wholesale distribution, which is classified separately, nor the repair of vehicles, which is a different division again.
